From your favourite sound to your phone.
Download a sound, then select it in your phone's settings. WakeUpSounds is a sound library; your phone handles the alarm.
Android
- Choose a sound and download the MP3.
- In Google Clock, open Alarm and choose the alarm you want to change.
- Tap its sound, then Add new. Select the file from Downloads and save your alarm.
Other Android clock apps may use different labels. For calls, look for the ringtone option in your phone's sound settings.
iPhone
- Download the MP3 and save it in Files.
- In GarageBand, import it into a track through the Loops browser's Files tab. Put it at the start.
- Return to My Songs. Share the project as a Ringtone, name it and export.
- In Clock → Alarms, edit a regular alarm. Under Sound, choose your new ringtone and save.
All our sounds are under 30 seconds. Installing a ringtone takes an extra step; downloading alone does not change your alarm. The separate Sleep Schedule wake-up alarm has different sound options.

Are the sounds really free?
Yes. You can download these sounds for your own ringtones and alarms without paying or creating an account. See our sound usage page for the permission that comes with the files.
Which file should I download?
Choose MP3 for Android, listening on a computer, or importing into GarageBand on iPhone. M4R is also available for an iPhone ringtone workflow that supports importing it. A download does not automatically install a ringtone.
Are these recordings or designed sounds?
This first collection was synthesized for WakeUpSounds. The nature-inspired sounds are designed impressions of birds, rain, water and wind, rather than outdoor recordings. No artist recordings or third-party audio samples are included.
Will the website wake me up?
The website previews and downloads sounds. Set your actual alarm in your phone's Clock app after installing your chosen sound. Try a short test alarm and check the phone's alarm volume.
Can I use the sounds in a video or another app?
The download permission covers personal ringtones and alarms. For publishing, redistribution or commercial use, please contact us about the use you have in mind.
